Chris’s family has followed his journey intensively online. They have had no real personal contact. So now they are especially happy that they can take him into their arms again. And that involves a lot of emotions. “We are very happy to finally see him. It was a real stressful moment for me and our children,” says his wife.
His brother is also very proud. “Chris has an incredibly strong character. He gets that from our dad.” Many supporters also gave him a warm welcome in the arrival hall of Zaventem airport.
The first thing Chris will do now? “I’m really looking forward to eating fries.”
