Chris Brown’s Michael Jackson tribute show has been cancelled

The cancellation came as a surprise to Chris Brown.

American pop artist Chris Brown’s was scheduled to perform at the American Music Awards over the weekend, but event organizers canceled his performance at the last minute. The 33-year-old Brown was supposed to honor the deceased with his performance in 2009 Michael Jackson.

Brown says that he did not receive any justification for the surprising decision. The frustrated artist commented on the situation with two words on his Instagram account.

– Are you serious? asks Brown in his publication.

Brown’s release includes a video of him performing moves very similar to the King of Pop himself Jackson.

In the video, Brown performs a boisterous combination of the king of pop’s hit songs with background dancers Beat It, Billie Jean, Wanna Be Startin’ somethin’ and Thriller.

All four songs are from Jackson’s legendary Thriller from the album, the release of which will be exactly 40 years at the end of the month.

Brown has been a controversial figure for years. In 2009, he assaulted his girlfriend at the time, Rihanna, who was hospitalized as a result of the incident.

Jackson died in June of the same year from a cardiac arrest caused by an overdose of drugs.

The year after Jackson’s death, Brown starred in a Jackson tribute at the BET Awards. At the time, Brown was also nominated for Best Male R&B and Pop Artist of the Year.
