HALLE (dpa-AFX) – According to its own statements, the Halloren chocolate factory has big plans. The company wants to inform about this on Wednesday (11:00 a.m.), as a spokesman said. The past few years have been eventful for the company. The reason for this is that the chocolate factory has repositioned itself after economic turbulence and has concentrated on its core business. The best-known product is the Hallorenkugel praline.
According to the company, which is based in Halle, it is the oldest chocolate factory in Germany and has a history of almost 220 years. In the 2020 annual report, Halloren reported sales of EUR 23.8 million. In the previous year it was 27.3 million euros. The decline was explained by the Corona crisis.
According to industry sources, the German confectionery industry is currently under additional pressure because of the Ukraine war. The companies are burdened by increased energy, packaging and transport costs. There are also delivery problems with raw materials./pb/DP/he
