Chloé unveils collaboration with Atelier Jolie

French fashion house Chloé has unveiled its highly anticipated collaboration with actress Angelina Jolie for her new purpose-driven and sustainable fashion label Atelier Jolie, announced in May.

The Chloé x Atelier Jolie collection, developed under former Chloé creative director Gabriela Hearst, was co-designed by Angelina Jolie to combine the French brand’s feminine silhouettes and craftsmanship with the actress’ taste for sophisticated minimalism.

The eveningwear-focused collection will launch in January 2024 and features elegant dresses, relaxed silhouettes, sophisticated outerwear and easy layering inspired by “femininity in all its facets.” The collection is made from natural fabrics such as organic silk, organic crepe de chine and certified wool and is presented in a largely neutral color palette to cater for a “wide range of skin tones”.

Some of the designs are also inspired by “precious pieces” from Jolie’s closet, including a white embroidered cotton dress she wore as a child and now uses as a top, and a black velvet cape.

The collection is made from at least 80 percent eco-friendly materials – a higher percentage than any of the B Corp-certified French fashion house’s previous collections. This means Chloé exceeds its annual commitment of 60 percent eco-friendly materials in ready-to-wear collections by 2023, as well as the 62 percent eco-friendly materials used in the AW23 collection.

Additionally, each piece in the collection has been crafted according to Chloé’s social sourcing framework and includes partnerships with Akanjo, a World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO) guaranteed social enterprise based in Madagascar dedicated to educating and promoting craftsmanship, and La Fabrique Nomade, a Paris-based program that promotes the professional integration of refugee and immigrant artisans in France. Chloé added that at least 50 percent of the collection is produced by fair trade companies, social enterprises or social procurement.

Highlights of the collaboration include Chloé’s signature Lavallière shirt made from off-cut hammered silk satin, black velvet trousers and a sleek three-piece black suit made from off-cut wool gabardine.

The Hollywood star also confirmed that her proceeds from this collaboration will go towards creating apprenticeships and building infrastructure for refugees and other underrepresented groups at Atelier Jolie.
