An attempt was made to steal the day’s produce at a chip shop on the Oudedijk in Odiliapeel on Saturday evening. According to the police, several robbers were involved. Partly thanks to the brave actions of a resident of the village, the police were quickly able to arrest three suspects.
The police reported the attempt around nine o’clock.
The robbers drove away on a scooter after the failed robbery. During that flight they collided with a passenger car. It belonged to someone from Odiliapeel. According to a fellow villager, he noticed that something was going on with the men and that is why he hit the scooter. “An act of heroism,” according to the woman.
The men continued their flight on foot, but that did not last long, after which the police were able to arrest three suspects.
The police are investigating what exactly happened.
