The second day of the CHIO in Aachen started with a victory for the French show jumper Marc Dilasser. Frederic Wandres came second in dressage on Wednesday (June 28th, 2023).
The 36-year-old was once again the best German rider in this discipline in Aachen. In the Prix St. Georges, after first place last year, the German runner-up with Quizmaster was only beaten this time by the three-time Olympic champion Charlotte Dujardin (Great Britain). Riding icon Isabell Werth came sixth with Zeffirelli.
The Prix St. Georges is the dressage test with the lowest level of difficulty at the CHIO, many top riders compete there with their young horses in particular.
Dilasser perfect and fast
Previously, Dilasser and his horse Abricot had won a test without a jump-off thanks to the fastest clear-cut ride. Before the Europa Prize in the evening, Laura Kraut from the United States and Haley came in second. Maurice Tebbel from Emsbüren, who rode in third place with Quasi Top, ensured the best German placement.
“As you can see, he’s a bit wild. He’s a little lion and I love him so much. He’s already won a lot of tests at big tournaments. He’s a fighter and so clever,” praised Dilasser, who won his second CHIO Participation celebrated the first victory, his horse. “Riding here is just a dream. I told my groom that I can now tell my little sons that I won in Aachen.”
