Chinese woman tried to lose 90 kilos with extreme methods – Died

The social media influencer died after eight months at a weight loss camp.

Chinese social media influencer “Cuihua” has died after attempting an extreme weight loss project, Shanghai Morning News reports According to the Insider website.

A 21-year-old woman wanted to lose 90 kilograms as quickly as possible, so she enrolled in a weight-loss camp in the city of Shaanxi.

For eight months, Cuihua devoted his whole life to training. He said that in the first two months he lost a staggering 26 kilos. During the next six months, I lost 10 kilos.

Cuihua’s training program was intense. In the evenings, he worked out on a live broadcast that his fans could follow. The broadcasts showed how the social star was completely exhausted and pain flashed across his face. However, he did not give up.

Cuihua’s death was reported by his family, who posted a sad video on his social media account.

– Our child has gone to heaven. We are still trying to process this, the release said.

Strong criticism

The popular social influencer had almost 10,000 followers on the Chinese Douyin service. Douyin is a kind of Chinese equivalent of Tiktok.

Cuihua’s death sparked fierce debate in China over whether her weight loss camp was safe.

– Half a kilo a day? Fitness trainers do not recommend such weight loss. That’s like sending someone to die, one commenter was horrified by the sad news, according to Insider.

– Losing weight like that is too fast. The heart can’t keep up with that, the other doubted.

Weight loss camps have grown in popularity in China. However, according to the local Jiemian News media, several other participants around China have also been injured in the camps due to the heavy strain.

The dieters in question have been diagnosed with rhabdomyolysis, i.e. a sudden damage to the muscle tissue, in which a large amount of toxic substances enter the bloodstream.
