Chinese fashion fair Chic announces realignment and dates

The trade fair platform Chic – China International Fashion Fair published the dates for its next events and their focal points on Monday. Because this year’s autumn edition of Chic Shanghai has to be canceled due to the pandemic, it is now to be integrated into the upcoming spring event in March 2023.

With “the realignment of the individual trade fairs, the reorganization of resources and a comprehensive service upgrade”, Chic “provides a comprehensive integrated platform”, bundles “the competence network in the international fashion business” and sets “a strong focus on digitization”, it says in a statement.

The Chic Greater Bay Area will therefore take place in Shenzhen from November 2nd to 4th of this year. The trade fair focuses in particular on the topics “digital worlds, NFTs and new retail”, the organizers announced. You are currently expecting around 1,000 exhibiting companies and 60,000 visitors. Things will continue next spring in Shanghai: at Chic Shanghai Spring (March 8th to 10th, 2023), with around 900 exhibiting companies expected, the focus will be “on the sale of fashion brands in the Chinese sales market”.

One part of the event will be the Chic Shanghai Autumn, which this year cannot take place from October 21 to 23 as planned. The organizers announced that the autumn date had to be canceled “due to the control of the pandemic in China”. The focus of the autumn event, which has now been postponed, is therefore on the topics “Supply Chain and ODM/OEM productions”. From next year, the trade fair will then take place again on the usual date in August.
