China exports rose in May due to less strict lockdowns

China’s exports grew faster in May than the month before. This was mainly because disruptions in production and logistics decreased. China recently relaxed corona restrictions after the number of infections with the virus decreased. This also allowed factories to produce more again. Port activity also increased, such as that in the world’s largest port, Shanghai. However, the economy is not yet fully operational. In fact, part of Shanghai has since been closed again and will not open again until millions of people have been tested.
