China denies sites of cyber espionage in the Ministry of Defense

China denies carrying out cyber attacks on the computer networks of the Ministry of Defense. The Chinese embassy in the Netherlands announced this on Wednesday press statement. The embassy speaks of “malicious speculation and unfounded accusations.”

China always strongly opposes cyber attacks, the embassy writes. “In any form.” “We will not allow any country or individual using Chinese infrastructure to engage in such illegal activities.”

On Wednesday it was announced that the Military Intelligence and Security Service (MIVD) found Chinese spy software on an armed forces computer system last year. According to the MIVD, this was “advanced malware” placed by “a Chinese state actor”.

The malware was found on a separate computer network within the army that fewer than fifty people use. The malware therefore did not cause damage to the Defense network.
