Children under the age of 12 abused in Britain: perpetrators receive prison sentences of 2 years to life | Abroad

Thirteen people have been sentenced to prison terms of 28 months to life in a British child abuse case. Over a period of nearly a decade, seven children aged 12 or under were abused in Walsall and Wolverhampton in England’s West Midlands region.

The abuse came to light after concerns were raised after a hospital visit by one of the victims, reports the British broadcaster BBC. Four suspects will be sentenced later, four convicts will not have to go to prison.

The authorities speak of shocking abuses. The victims suffered significant physical and mental damage. Some of them have since grown up.

The police investigation lasted six years. The court cases were delayed due to the corona pandemic and the lockdowns.
