The Galician city will host the XXII National and III International Congress of the Spanish Society of Clinical Psychology-ANPIR, which will be attended by more than 800 clinical psychologists

A Coruña will host, starting next Thursday, May 18 and for three days, the XXII National and III International Congress of the Spanish Society of Clinical Psychology- ANPIR. Under the motto ‘Overflowing Marcos’, the event will count with the assistance of national and international experts. More than 800 professionals will discuss mental health, psychological treatments and public health.

Depression, anxiety, severe personality or mood disorders double the risk of suicide attempts are some of the consequences of abuse -physical, psychological, sexual abuse, negligence…- childhood into adulthood. A silenced abuse which is still a taboo and it has incalculable consequences on children because it also leaves them with incurable scars when they become adults.

In fact, 35% of the mental disorders diagnosed in adulthood have to do with experiences of this type in childhood. ‘The clinical psychology of childhood and adolescence in different fields’, will be one of the tables of the event, moderated by Gloria Bellido.
