Child (1.5 years) amputated arm and leg after being attacked by a dog

This morning a one and a half year old child was attacked by a dog. The child was staying with the father in the Sint Katharinastraat in Sint-Eloois-Winkel, part of the municipality of Ledegem, when the toddler was attacked by the Stafford of the child’s mother. The toddler’s parents are divorced.

The injuries after the attack by the dog were so serious that the child had to have an arm and a leg amputated. The father lost his thumb. A vet gave the dog an injection immediately after the attack.
