Chiefs superfan ‘ChiefsAholic’ arrested after months on the run

Chiefs “superfan” Xaviar Babudar was on the run for months. Now US authorities have arrested and charged the man known as “ChiefsAholic”.

Xaviar Babudar used to make headlines as “ChiefsAholic” because he dressed up as a wolf at almost every Kansas City Chiefs game and posted pictures of it on his social media account. Hundreds of thousands of fans followed him there. Folklore. He is now the focus of much darker events.

Bank robbery charge

The 28-year-old was arrested near Sacramento (California) on Friday. Babudar was charged with one count of “bank robbery and one count of transporting stolen property across state lines,” the US Attorney’s Office in Missouri officially announced.

However, investigators reportedly believe he is responsible for at least six other bank robberies in the US states of Iowa, Minnesota, Tennessee, Oklahoma and Nebraska. He is said to have laundered the stolen money in US casinos. The man is said to have redeemed over a million dollars in casino chips in the past few months.

Superfan just took off the ankle bracelet

Babudar allegedly robbed an Oklahoma bank with a loaded gun in December. Shortly thereafter, he was caught by the police and arrested for the first time. He was released on bail for the time being and got shackles instead of prison.

When he failed to appear at the scheduled court date in March, it turned out that Babudar had taken off his shackles and fled. Since then, authorities have been on the hunt for the Super Bowl champion’s former superfan. The FBI was also involved. Babadur even landed on Missouri’s “Most Wanted” list. His successful social media accounts have since been shut down by the authorities.
