Chief Digital and Technology Officer resigns

The technology chief of British retail giant Marks & Spencer is reportedly stepping down after five years in the role, despite a recent promotion.

Jeremy Pee, chief digital and technology officer, was responsible for the retailer’s shopping app and loyalty program. These are playing an increasingly important role for the company as it becomes more focused on digital channels.

Katie Bickerstaffe, Co-Chief Executive Officer of Marks & Spencer, will take over Pee’s responsibilities until a successor is found.

“After five years at Marks & Spencer, Jeremy is moving back to Canada with his family,” a spokesman told the Times newspaper, which first reported on the matter.
