Chelsea will first play in the FA Cup this afternoon, without Tuchel on the bench. In the fourth round, Plymouth Argyle, playing in League One (third tier), is the opponent at Stamford Bridge. Hakim Ziyech has a basic place at ‘The Blues’.
“The head coach will now follow the necessary protocols regarding self-isolation and hopes to join the team in Abu Dhabi during next week,” Chelsea said in a brief statement on the website.
The London top club, last season winner of the Champions League, will face the winner of the game between Al-Hilal from Saudi Arabia and Al-Jazira from the United Arab Emirates at the World Cup for clubs on Wednesday. At the latter club, the Dutchman Marcel Keizer is the head coach.
