Romano reports on agreement
Shortly before the transfer deadline, Romelu Lukaku moved from Chelsea to AS Roma on loan. The 30-year-old Belgian had to deal with coach José Mourinho for the third time in his career. Lukaku got off to a strong start with the Giallorossi, scoring seven times in eight games. Loud Fabrizio Romano The financial framework conditions for a continuation beyond 2023/24 have already been defined.
According to the transfer expert, there is an agreement on the transfer fee for next summer. Accordingly, the Blues would let the center forward, who still has a contract in London until 2026, go for around 37 million pounds – the equivalent of 42.7 million euros. For that same amount, Lukaku would finally switch sides and belong to Roma from now on.

The loan fee for this season was reportedly 5.8 million euros, and there was no mention of a purchase option. In Rome, Lukaku is expected to earn around 7.5 million euros by the end of the season. In 2022/23, the goalscorer was on loan for Serie A rivals Inter Milan and contributed 14 goals and seven assists in 37 games.
In his career, Lukaku has so far generated 339.16 million euros in transfer fees. In the case of a Roma deal, these statistics would end up with 382 million euros. Only for Neymar was more money put on the table – albeit without this impending future transfer: it was 400 million euros for the Brazilian’s three changes.
