Too bad, it is already clear that a European association wins the club World Cup.
I would have liked at least one team from another continent in the final. So all the joke from the event is out. I am even less interested in a final around the large money pot between Chelsea and PSG/Real than a group game in the Champions League.
Well Digga, but I found it blatant that a club outside of Europe only made it into the quarter. I was safe (except that it would not have been possible with the tournament tree) that from the quarter only the big ones would be at the start and we would see CL-Light.
Overall, I found that there were quite a few surprises.
Fluminense z. B. I would have assessed as a weakness of the Brazilian teams, but they let Palmeiras, Flamengo and Botafogo (which even beat PSG) behind them + Inter.
Al Hilal Real has crushed a tie and kicked City.
For me, Monterrey was also quite a surprise, although – if you look at the squad (yes, there are many old stars) – even since it was surprisingly a lot of European experience on the pitch.
Also found that the Sundowns played a fairly good ball.
Or Auckland with the 1-1 against Boca and Benfica with the first victory of their club history against Bavaria.
