training injury
Chelsea have to do without goalkeeper Edouard Mendy for the time being. The 30-year-old broke a finger in training and has already had an operation, as the Blues announced on Saturday. The Premier League club did not announce an exact downtime, but the goalkeeper will definitely miss a few games.
Mendy, who reached the round of 16 with Senegal at the World Cup in Qatar, had already missed a few games before the tournament due to injury, which is why he has only made eleven appearances this season in which he has kept one clean sheet. Substitute Kepa Arrizabalaga (28), on the other hand, has had 14 shots between the posts, six of which were clean sheets, and is still able to show himself after his team-mate’s absence.
Edouard Mendy has undergone an operation on a fractured finger sustained in training this week.
