Chef Antti Lukkari, 28, has died – he fell seriously ill on vacation

A Finnish chef with an international career Antti Lukkari has died at the age of 29. The owner of Stockholm’s Frantzén restaurant announced Lukkari’s death on Instagram Björn Frantzén.

Lukkari had worked at the restaurant for almost six years. He was named chef in June 2022. It is a restaurant with three Michelin stars.

– I am completely shocked to tell about the tragic and sudden death of my dear friend, golf friend, colleague Antti Lukkari.

The update shows that Lukkari fell ill on vacation and died despite hospital treatment.

Lukkari’s latest Instagram update was made on New Year’s Eve. The Philippines is marked as the location in the picture.

– My thoughts are with Antti’s family and his loved ones.

– Antti, thank you for all your hard work, dedication, passion and all the laughs during the years together. You will be greatly missed Mr. Finland. See you on the golf course and on the other side of the kitchen, Frantzén concludes his writing.

During his career, Lukkari managed to work as a dessert chef in Copenhagen’s only three-star restaurant. In addition to this, he worked at the restaurant GW Sundsmann in Helsinki.

He participated in the prestigious international Bocuse d’Or chef competition between 2013 and 2015. He was working at the time Matti Jämsen’s as an assistant. In 2015, Lukkari was awarded as the best assistant in the competition.

Iltalehti contacted the restaurant Frantzén, but the restaurant did not want to comment further on Lukkari’s death.
