Check out the quality of your swimming pool here

With the heat of the coming days, what could be better than cooling off in one of the swimming lakes in Drenthe? But then of course you want to know about the water quality.

The water quality is good in almost all swimming lakes in Drenthe. Only for the Hunzedal near Borger is a negative swimming advice given. The water quality there is insufficient. If you do go swimming in that puddle, there is a high risk of stomach and/or intestinal complaints and skin irritation. There is also a warning about blue-green algae.

Between 1 May and 1 October, the more than 900 swimming locations in the Netherlands are checked by inspectors. They look at different bacteria, such as intestinal enterococci and E.coli. It is also checked whether blue-green algae is present and whether the swimming pool is safe in general.
