According to a media report, VfB Stuttgart is also thinking of Joti Chatzialexiou, the current head of the national teams at the German Football Association, when looking for a new sports director.
There are said to have already been talks between VfB Vice President Rainer Adrion and the 47-year-old, reported the “Bild am Sonntag”.
Adrion, former German U21 national coach, and Chatzialexiou know each other from their time together at the DFB. Chatzialexiou has already been traded by the Swabians in the past.
Alexander Wehrle is currently still CEO and sports director in Stuttgart. The Bundesliga club had announced a long time ago that they wanted to have their own sports board again in the future.
Another possibility would be to promote the current sports director Fabian Wohlgemuth. Chatzialexiou has held various positions for the DFB since 2003.
