The makers of Chateau Meiland are indeed quite pissed off on RTL Boulevard. They will discuss possible steps with Talpa. “There seems to be a code violation here.”
Maxime Meiland married her beloved Leroy Molkenboer on Saturday. Actually, their wedding would be filmed exclusively by Vincent TV Productions, which makes the ratings hit Chateau Meiland. But completely unexpectedly, and against all agreements, a camera crew from RTL Boulevard also showed up.
Boulevard misconduct?
RTL Boulevard was eventually assigned a place remotely, but they could still shoot images of the wedding from there. They were broadcast on television the same evening. Remarkably enough, the show section was able to make Maxime and Leroy’s yes to be heard crystal clear, while their team was very far away.
Yvonne Coldeweijer stated yesterday that Boulevard has misbehaved a lot. “They have behaved outrageously. I learned that they filmed from a distance and tapped the audio, tuning in to the frequency of the transmitters (they were filming for their own series) and recording it without permission.”
Chateau producer angry
Yvonne’s story that steps are being considered turns out to be correct. Vincent TV is really pissed off. A spokesperson calls it at NU.nl ‘very likely’ that their sound has indeed been tapped.
It can hardly be otherwise, according to the press officer. “Boulevard was not invited and stood at a distance of 25 meters. Yet they had crystal clear sound of the ceremony in the broadcast. It is technically very clever that you are able to do that.”
Illegal wiretapping
Vincent TV is now considering taking steps. “If this has indeed happened, that is reprehensible behavior to say the least. If you illegally tap each other, a code will be violated and we will consult with Talpa to see if and what we want to do about it.”
RTL Boulevard informs NU.nl that it has reported ‘journalism’. “The presence of the RTL Boulevard team went smoothly. There is no question of any illegality.”
Jan Dijkgraaf responds
Jan Dijkgraaf, the biography of the Meilandjes, also taps RTL Boulevard on the fingers. “Not so neat, eavesdropping and broadcasting that”, tweets he.
