Ajax Women has qualified for the cup final tonight at the expense of Excelsior. Chasity Grant became the only goalscorer of the game in the second half.
Ajax Women was clearly the dominant party at Sportpark De Toekomst. In the first 45 minutes the post was hit, a shot went just wide and Excelsior took a ball off the line. At the start of the second company, the team from Amsterdam did score. Grant tapped in after a cross from the left.
The team from Rotterdam then went looking for the equalizer, but Excelsior didn’t get any further than sparse opportunities. Ajax Women also struggled to create opportunities, so it remained exciting until the final whistle.
On Saturday 4 June, PSV or ADO Den Haag will be the opponent in the KNVB cup final. They will play against each other in the other semifinal tomorrow.
