For the new haute couture collection, Chanel had artist Xavier Veilhan transform its catwalk into an equestrian course. Charlotte Casriraghi came on horseback. For the presentation of its new haute couture collection for spring summer 2022, the fashion house Chanel took its guests into the world of equestrian sports. The temporary exhibition building in the Grand Palais Ephémère on the Champ de Mars was transformed by artist Xavier Veilhan into a contemporary equestrian course that led through huge installations made of untreated wood.
After the appearance of musician Sebastien Tellier, who provided the soundtrack for the show, Charlotte Casiraghi (35), daughter of Caroline of Monaco, rode onto the catwalk on a horse. In a dark, glittering tweed jacket, she trotted a lap through the sand on a large bay, then galloped back behind the scenes.
Only then did the actual fashion show begin, which opened with a series of elegant trouser suits. Befitting a haute couture collection, there were many elaborate details to be seen afterwards, such as the light blue sleeves of a cream-colored tweed dress, which were completely covered with feathers, dresses with countless sequins or transparent tulle fabrics with delicate flower applications.
As is usual with high tailoring, the show ended with the appearance of a bride. She held a small bouquet of black flowers in homage to Chanel muse Gaspard Ulliel. The actor died in a skiing accident on January 18. (dpa)
