Charlie Sheen remembers Matthew Perry

Charlie Sheen says he met Matthew Perry at the AA club.

Actor Charlie Sheen58, recalls Friends-pace Matthew Perry in a recent interview. Perry died at the age of 54 unexpectedly in October.

Sheen says Deadline– magazine that he was sad to read about Perry’s death note. After the actor’s death, Sheen read his memoir in one day.

– I could identify with it so much. I, as it were, lived the events of the book with him. It dealt with a lot of suffering and obsession. The idea that you’re at a crossroads, and you have 76 good options, but you choose option 77. That spoke to me, he says.

Sheen reflected that it might as well have been him who would have been the subject of the obituary. The actors are united by their struggles with alcohol and drug problems.

– I also knew him in the real world when we saw each other sometimes in the AA club, and he was adorable. He took people with him [keskusteluihin]. He was special, Sheen praises.

– I’m not saying that I could have influenced things or helped him in any way, but I just wish that I had known him better, the actor concludes.

Perry was found dead in his home’s hot tub in late October. He was buried six days later.

Perry’s cause of death was determined to be the acute effects of ketamine. Drowning, coronary artery disease and the effects of buprenorphine were also found to be contributing factors. According to the medical examiner’s report, ketamine could have rendered Perry unconscious, causing him to drown. According to the report, Perry’s coronary artery disease and use of buprenorphine made him more susceptible to the effects of ketamine.

Perry said in his memoir that he used to use ketamine daily in rehab. He said the substance eased his pain and helped with his depression.
