The two recently crowned royals were seen on Sunday evening (May 7) in a good mood and humorous in front of the camera with Katy Perry and Lionel Richie – in England.

Perry and Richie traveled to Great Britain for their performances at the coronation ceremony and were not present as judges on their American talent show “American Idol”. For the broadcast, however, they switched on from Great Britain and were surprised in front of the camera: Charles and Camilla appeared in a good mood at the side of the two presenters.

King Charles jokes in the video, “I just wanted to know how long you’re going to be using this room?”, followed by banter with the two presenters. Charles then thanks Richie for his presence and concert at the coronation: “Thank you for your brilliant performance, it was great.”

Perry, Richie, Andrea Bocelli and Bryn Terfel, pianist Lang Lang with singer Nicole Scherzinger, Paloma Faith, but also the British group Take That are among the artists who have been confirmed for King Charles’ coronation concert. This was the first time in the history of the British royal family.

A large open-air stage and screens were set up in front of Windsor Castle for this purpose. King Charles, Queen Camilla and other members of the royal family took their seats in a grandstand to watch the performances. In addition, 20,000 spectators had the opportunity to experience the spectacle live. Prince William also gave a surprisingly humorous speech between concert performances.
