‘Character assassination of Gordon? He’s not Mother Teresa!’

Evert Santegoeds does not feel addressed when Gordon talks about ‘character assassination’. “He is not of impeccable behavior or a kind of Mother Teresa,” said the Private Boss.

We haven’t heard from him for a long time – Gordon is keeping up his Insta break and that is wise – but in a few weeks he will give a big comeback interview to Beau van Erven Dorens. The first fragment has already been served via RTL Boulevard and in it Goor complains about ‘character assassination’. Who is he talking about? That is still unclear.

Character assassination

It is probably about Evert Santegoeds, who deflated Goor’s ex-toyboy in his gossip magazine Privé. Goor was so angry about this that he reported it to the police, but the Public Prosecution Service saw no point in it.

Who is Gordon’s complaint about character assassination about? Evert says in the podcast Strictly Private: “I do not know. I hope not about me, because the Justice Department has already ruled that what I wrote together with Gavin was not even libel and slander, so if it is character assassination… If he takes that approach…”

Mother Teresa

Evert does not feel addressed. “Yes, Gordon does not have a bad character, but he is also not of impeccable behavior or a Mother Teresa. If you write terrible stories about Mother Teresa, then you have to be very careful what you write, but about Gordon, who himself has a fight with everything and everyone and the whole world…”

He continues: “From De Toppers to Gerard to LA The Voices to people with whom he made programs… Yes, you can afford to say more about Gordon, because there is something in that character that causes those explosions and violent outbursts that have put a lot of collaborations into focus.”

‘We will see’

Evert is curious about what Gordon is going to say. “I am curious about Casa di Beau. So someone was already preparing me, who said: ‘Well, he’s coming to Beau.’ I think: oh God, it’s just calmed down and he sees an opportunity to stir things up again… But we’ll see. It will be on TV on January 7. I’ll go take a look.”

Colleague Jordi Versteegden: “It would be such a messy start to the new year, wouldn’t it? If that all flares up again.”

Quiet for a very long time

It’s also part of it, says Evert. “It was quite quiet for a long time, didn’t you think?”

He sighs: “Gordon’s character is probably not that bad, but it all turns out so unfortunate. If he starts filing reports and such again… The Justice Department quickly ruled in a very short time that it was not defamation, not slander, let alone character assassination.”
