Chaos at Hertha: transfer destination flies back

According to a media report, the events on Monday at the Bundesliga club Hertha BSC, which is threatened with relegation, have rolled over. Right in the middle: transfer target Gauthier Hein, who could now possibly be accommodated at VfB Stuttgart instead of with the Berliners.

Actually everything was already clarified between Hertha BSC and the Frenchman Gauthier Hein from AJ Auxerre. Managing Director Fredi Bobic, who was fired on Saturday evening, had engineered the deal with the midfielder in the past few days, so the 26-year-old made his way to Berlin with his advisor on Monday for the obligatory medical check-up.

But then that: According to “Bild”, the transfer burst at the last minute. The negotiations between the two Bobic successors Benjamin Weber and Andreas “Zecke” Neuendorf and the Ligue 1 club did not come to a conclusion. The possible new investor 777, who apparently already has his fingers in the pie when it comes to transfer issues, was also not convinced of the transfer, according to the report.

Hein, who by then had already completed his medical examinations, promptly flew back. Well, according to “Bild”, the French could find accommodation at Hertha’s league and relegation competitor VfB Stuttgart.

Players cancel Hertha BSC

In the meantime, several players have decided against moving to Berlin, it is also said.

Wolfsburg’s Maximilian Philipp, whose loan transfer had also been arranged by Fredi Bobic, ultimately preferred Werder Bremen. The deal for the 28-year-old was finalized between Wolfsburg and Bremen on Monday afternoon.

Selim Amallah from Standard Liège meanwhile canceled Hertha BSC in order to be able to move to Real Valladolid in the Spanish league, according to “Bild”. Meanwhile, Leicester City’s Danish centre-back Jannik Vestergaard had to be left off the list due to cost concerns.

However, two potential newcomers are still on the Hertha list: winger Theo Bongonda from FC Cádiz and central defender Marvin Friedrich from Borussia Mönchengladbach.
