Spectators did not fit in at the Gettomasa gig.
Rapper Gettomasa is one of the most anticipated performers of Himos Midsummer. The rapper started his gig at less than a quarter on a tent platform in the area.
The tent was already full to the brim before the start of the performance, and no more spectators could be allowed into the tent for safety reasons. Eight law enforcement officers had to guard security fences inside the tent as visually several hundred people entered the tent. There were more law enforcement officers among the queuers.
The crowd came to surprise the law enforcement officers. One of the policemen had time to comment to Iltalehti that no other artist’s gig has ever been the same.

The situation became threatening in places as law enforcement officers had to drag violent spectators out of the crowd into the tent. One man was being chased by four law enforcement officers. He was eventually led out of the area in handcuffs.
Law enforcement officers let spectators into the tent as customers left the tent. Not even a vip ticket helped you get to the tent faster. There is no VIP area on the tent platform.

The same problem has happened in Himos Midsummer in the past. A similar chaos was seen on Himos Juhannus ‘tent platform as early as 2018. Iltalehti reported on the queuing chaos that took place in the back of Himos Juhannus’ tent platform during Sanni’s gig. The spectators could not fit in and some tried to get past the stewards. As late as 2018, there were no fences at the back of the tent, as they are now.
