Is Chantal Janzen playing with fire? Does she listen enough to the criticism? One thing is certain: for the first time she has taken the lead in a rather negative TV list. “Stop this in 2024!”
The media landscape is increasingly becoming an obstacle course for the stars of our country. If you have just managed to maneuver past Angela de Jong and her razor-sharp pen, Tina Nijkamp is now waiting for you. With the ratings in her hand, this former SBS boss is hitting one star after another.
Chantal at the top
Tina’s analysis channel has made a definitive breakthrough in the past year, because she has a lot of factual knowledge in the field of television, is knowledgeable and packages it in a modern way. Her influence may not yet be as great as that of Angela de Jong, but she regularly provides media such as AD and Shownieuws with nice headlines.
Lately Tina has been coming up with all kinds of exciting top-five lists or top-ten lists and now it is the turn of the top five of ‘things that will hopefully really disappear in 2024’. So that has a rather negative connotation. A list that you really don’t want to be at the top of. And yet this is now happening to none other than A-star Chantal Janzen.
Lottery commercials
What has Chantal done? Well, more: what did she tout? Lotteries. Games of chance. And that seems to be becoming more and more of a thing in 2024, because: can the celebrities make this? It is becoming increasingly clear that A-stars in particular should take responsibility and protect their supporters.
Tina writes about it: “The top five things that will hopefully really disappear by 2024? On one: stars like Chantal Janzen advertising a lottery. It’s just gambling. Why do you want that as a celebrity? Is even more money that important? Stars like Chantal, Robert ten Brink and Irene Moors have already arrived.”
Curious
Chantal has been increasingly bothered by fierce lottery criticism lately. Özcan Akyol, for example, believes that she loses her credibility by always appearing on stage in those blue Friends Lottery outfits. “I find those commercials on television with famous Dutch people truly cringe-worthy.”
Oops, oops, oops: will there be a tipping point in 2024? That lottery commercials are a bit not done become an A-star? In any case, Tina isn’t letting go yet…
To disappear
What else is actually on Tina’s list of things that will hopefully disappear next year? Second: not being honest in press releases. For example, RTL pretended that Edson da Graça’s relegation to Videoland was something positive. On three: “The leader of Hart van Nederland. Can those skyscrapers finally be removed?”
‘Programs that constantly change days and times at the NPO’ is number four, and number five: “In the event of a flop, say: ‘We will at least try something new.’ Pff, that’s right, but the wrong new format.”
