‘Chantal Janzen has made up for a mega quarrel with John de Mol’

It seems that Chantal Janzen has made up for her mega quarrel with John de Mol. She has been visiting Talpa. “Apparently it’s all back to normal now.”

Chantal Janzen visited John de Mol’s Talpa last week and that raises many an eyebrow. Not only because she is an RTL face, but also because she was furious with him a few years ago. It therefore seems that both sides have reconciled their conflict.

Eyes popped out

Due to the heated argument between competitors RTL and Talpa, Chantal had to stop her successful TV program Chantal Continues to Sleep in 2019. The rights are in the hands of Talpa and the big boss John de Mol was at the time moving all his own formats to his own TV channel SBS 6.

It led to Chantal being very pissed off at John. “Resentment, annoyance… I was at the end of my pregnancy and then I heard that he was going to take it all with him. I cried my eyes out, but those were hormones too. Yes, it is a kind of child that you help create”, she said at the time.

Wedding

Chantal just didn’t think it was chic of John. “I almost thought: we had a marriage, then we split up and he takes the child with him. It’s kind of crazy because I dated his son, so that’s kind of gross then – so this is a crazy explanation. But it kind of feels that way.”

She feared that Chantal Continues to Sleep at SBS 6 would continue with another presenter, but that did not happen. John’s sister Linda de Mol said about this: “Chantal was told: ‘We will never do those programs with anyone else, only we cannot make them now due to the situation, but we will save the format for you.'”

Visiting Talpa

However, Chantal did not wait for that: she decided to come up with a new format. In the meantime everything seems to be peaceful again between the two parties, because Chantal placed in her last week stories on Instagram that she went to visit Talpa. “Because real friends, you don’t have them for a while,” she added.

Chantal points out to Shownieuws that she is also active as a TV producer. “Then you have conversations everywhere. If you are spotted at another channel, it does not mean that I will present something there. As a result, as a producer you sometimes come across all channels, including a channel where people think: huh, what were you doing there?”

Cookie and egg

RTL Boulevard host Eddy Zoëy: “When I look at that post, I see a nod to the former series Friends for Life, of course with Peter Lusse. She also talks about acting. Who knows, SBS will make a new series with Friends for Life and she will act in it. That is not presenting and then it is allowed.”

Colleague Luuk Ikink: “And Jan Smit’s song was underneath it, wasn’t it? That is of course not from Friends For Life, but it is about that.”

And finally, TV connoisseur Rob Goossens: “I was surprised anyway, because Chantal really had a conflict with John de Mol about Chantal Continues to Sleep. Apparently, it’s all back and forth between the two now. Just in time.”
