Chantal Janzen gets hit by football, record low after ailing weeks

Chantal Janzen does not want to succeed in making her new RTL 4 show Fout Maar Goud a success. After a few troubled weeks, she got a knock from football last night.

Linda de Mol may have said goodbye to the title of TV queen, but to ascend the vacated throne, Chantal Janzen has to score a little better. Her programs are not exactly ratings hits and the scores of her latest RTL 4 show Fout Maar Goud are also quite disappointing.

Tap of football

The most painful thing for Chantal is that the premiere of Fout Maar Goud three weeks ago still had an excellent score with 815 thousand viewers (18 percent market share), but after that it went downhill fast. A week later, 535,000 people watched, a harsh punishment for the viewer. Last week, 633,000 people were waiting.

Yesterday, the presenter received a big hit from football: the Poland – Netherlands match dominated prime time with a score of 2 million viewers (38 percent) on NPO 3. In contrast, Fout Maar Goud knew ‘only’ 485 thousand viewers (9 percent) a record low for the program.

SBS 6 does it better

The commercial competitor SBS 6 is holding up much better against football: Mr. Frank Visser Doet Uitspraak scored 792 thousand viewers (15 percent) and Today Inside had 573 thousand (11 percent). “SBS 6 can handle the competition of football a lot better than RTL 4 in the totals,” concludes viewing figure expert Tina Nijkamp.

Only NPO 1 did even better with regard to football: Best Singers had 988 thousand viewers (18 percent) and Dit Was Het Nieuws had 842 thousand (16 percent).
