Chantal Goes from Bredene new Belgian shrimp peeling champion

The Belgian Championship is an organization of the Order of the Horse Fisherman that is committed to the promotion of the Oostduinkerke shrimp. Peel as many shrimp as possible in ten minutes. Chantal Goes from Bredene peeled 152 grams of shrimp, no less than 50 grams more than last year. Ann Dalle and Nadine Deetens show off on stage.

Fish of the year

The Flemish gray shrimp is a delicacy. Shrimp fishermen talk about the best the North Sea has to offer. Such a Belgian championship is a nice recognition for the product. Last year the shrimp was still the fish of the year.

The Belgian championship in Oostduinkerke is part of the two-day shrimp festival with the shrimp procession and the sea blessing.
