Seven years after announcing an “impasse”, the band led by Chano Charpentier reconvenes to give two farewell performances. The renowned group sold out their first show at the stadium in an hour and a half, so they had to add a second date. Ticket prices for the two shows ranged from 15,000 pesos to 30,000 pesos, plus service charge, depending on the location.
“Thank you for selling out the two shows in 3 hours. I love you,” Chano wrote on his social networks after the announcement of the two sold-out dates. “Total success! so bionic, the iconic band that revolutionized pop rock in Spanish, will play again after seven years with two Vélez stadiums on October 28 and 29, sold out in record time,” they wrote for their part from the production company D.F. Entertainment.
Chano had announced the show last Friday from his Twitter account, where he shared a video with the rest of the band members, Gonzalo “Bambi” Charpentier, Sebastián “Seby” Seoane and Diego “Diega” Lichtenstein, and the legend “Magic City of Buenos Aires, see you on October 28 in Vélez”. This video is among the last productions that the group recorded, considering their announced separation.
The musician was discharged from his last hospitalization in early March. In the first communication he had with his followers, he assured that he was “recovered” and “ready to move on with life.” Within a few weeks, he appeared as a soloist at the Athens Stadium of La Plata and then gave a show at the San Isidro Racecourse for the return of the festival lollapaloozawhere he appeared with Tan Biónica.
Throughout his career, Tan Biónica received multiple awards and recognitions in Argentina and Latin America, such as nominations in the Latin Grammys, Gold and Platinum records, Carlos Gardel Awards, Kids Choice Awards, MTV, 40 Principales. They were also named Outstanding Personality of the Culture of Buenos Aires and Ambassadors of Argentine Music in Mexico.
