Chano had been in that same clinic in May of last year, before being transferred to the Avril Clinic to continue treatment for his substance addictions, a problem that has been dragging on for several years and that has brought him several problems.
Charpentier became known from 2010, due to the success of so bionic. The band, considered one of the most important phenomena of the pop rock scene in recent years, generated great success and fanaticism in the public, reaching three gold records and one platinum record and popularizing songs like “Magic City” either “God’s melody”.
However, the band’s success was highly dependent on Chano’s state of health, who has long suffered from a cocaine addiction. This addiction led him to star in different controversial episodes, such as several car crashes. Months before, Chano had been involved in a similar incident in Jujuy. Car accidents were not the only manifestation of his substance problems. In May of the following year he was transferred to a detoxification clinic after having remained in the Otamendi Sanatorium with fever and a lung condition. After that, Chano returned to the stage with massive shows in Cordoba, Santa Fe and even in the Luna Park. However, again, his health worries his fans, and especially his mother, Marina Charpentierwho after keeping silent about her son’s condition used her Instagram account to ask for “respect and silence from haters and those who draw conclusions without knowing anything.”
