Bayern Munich and other top clubs from across Europe are reportedly preparing offers for Napoli forward Victor Osimhen. After winning the Italian championship, his advisor commented on the question of the future.
Victor Osimhen is one of the great heroes at SSC Napoli: Thanks to his goals in the championship, the Neapolitans have won the “Scudetto” for the first time in 33 years – for the first time since a certain Diego Maradona.
Ultimately, it was Osimhen’s goal to make it 1-1 (0-1) at Udinese Calcio that started the big championship celebrations around Mount Vesuvius. It was his 22nd goal in 27 Serie A games this season. In the Champions League, where the light blues only failed in the quarter-finals at AC Milan, he scored five times in six games. A yield that reportedly also brought FC Bayern to the scene.
For the coming transfer phase, the German record champions have put the commitment of a new centre-forward at the top of their list of priorities. Alongside Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani, Osimhen is one of the hottest candidates.
Osimhen has ‘incredible attachment to the city of Naples’
How the Nigerian, who still has a contract in Naples until 2025, will ultimately decide is uncertain. After the draw in Udine, his advisor Roberto Calenda initially warded off any question about his client’s future on “Sky”: “At the moment it is not appropriate to talk about the market, but to enjoy this victory. It’s a great feeling with the Napoli fans and with these colors.
Calenda, meanwhile, highlighted Osimhen’s qualities: “You can see when he plays that he’s always trying to do his best for the team and his team-mates. He’s developed a tremendous bond with the city of Naples, which has given him more and more encouragement, to this incredible satisfaction.”
The attacker “gave everything for the championship title because he wanted to show his qualities that he hadn’t shown in the first few years”. Before moving to Italy, Victor Osimhen was under contract in Lille and at VfL Wolfsburg.
