US apparel retailer Lands’ End Inc. announced a leadership change on Monday. The company announced that CEO Jerome Griffith will resign from his position effective January 27th at the end of the current fiscal year 2022/23. A successor has already been found: Andrew McLean, who is currently President, International at the American Eagle Outfitters Inc. textile group, is to move into the Board of Directors of Lands’ End as “designated CEO” on November 1 and take over the executive chair from Griffith’ accept resignation.
Josephine Linden, Chair of the Board of Directors, justified the recruitment decision: “Andrew McLean is a seasoned retail executive with a strong track record of driving significant growth, productivity and expansion across channels and geographies,” she said in a message. Prior to American Eagle Outfitters, McLean held a variety of leadership roles at well-known apparel retailers such as Gap, Liz Claiborne and Urban Outfitters.
Griffith will remain with the company even after he resigns as CEO. The 64-year-old will remain a member of the board of directors and take over the position of executive vice chair, Lands’ End announced.
