“I take this step with infinite gratitude for what I have lived and also infinite enthusiasm for what is to come; to get out -once again- of the comfort zone, hold tight the reins of my life in the media and face new dreams to fulfill. On Telefe I covered elections, resignations, attacks and even a pandemic. In Telefé I traveled incredible parts of the world to portray issues such as the drug problem in the United States and Paraguay, the tension in the Middle East between Israel and the Gaza Strip, the political crisis in Venezuela, the visit of Pope Francis to Mexico, life in the Marambio Base in Antarctica”, reviewed Girón.
The journalist thanked the technicians, authorities and the conductors of the central news program, Rodolfo Barili and Cristina Perez, “for demonstrating with their talent and generosity why they are number one in what they do”. And he anticipated that “in the immediate future”, he will see it “more focused on political news that so much passion generates me”.
“I am increasingly convinced that my generation has to make its contribution to explain the complexities of our country, work with intellectual honesty to close the cracks that divide us, bring the agenda of the corridors of power closer to the agenda of ordinary people like you and me. But that will be a story for later,” Girón concluded without even defining the signal that will receive it.
