Change in leadership Andreas Tepest follows Michael Tackenberg

Change of leadership at the top of the sustainability initiative of the German shoe industry, cads eV (cooperation for secure, defined standards in shoe and leather goods products): Andreas Tepest, Vice-Chairman of cads and authorized signatory of Deichmann SE, takes over the chairmanship of the association’s board on an interim basis.

Andreas Tepest succeeds Michael Tackenberg, whose mandate at cads ends in accordance with the articles of association with his departure from Gabor. Michael Tackenberg was chairman of cads from 2010 to 2022.

The new chairman of the board of directors, Andreas Tepest, was previously active as deputy chairman and head of the environmental working group at cads. In addition to his voluntary work in the association, he is responsible for the areas of sustainability and quality management in the Deichmann Group.

“Michael Tackenberg is one of the founding fathers of our association and, among other things, he put his heart and soul into promoting the topic of avoiding pollutants. Through his commitment and commitment, he has ensured that the members of cads lead the way worldwide when it comes to standards for humane, fair and environmentally friendly production in the shoe industry.

With this in mind, I will continue to lead the club until the by-election in July 2022,” said Andreas Tepest.

The cads association defines the standards of environmentally conscious, social and sustainable production in the shoe and leather goods industry. So far, 80 German companies have joined behind the sustainability initiative: material suppliers, tanners, specialist dealers, shoe and bag manufacturers. All cads members take their global responsibility towards people and the environment very seriously. In the Code of Conduct, the members undertake to implement ecological and social aspects in a concrete and transparent manner in the value chain.
