VfB Stuttgart have signed Frenchman Dan-Axel Zagadou for their defence. The Frenchman last played for Borussia Dortmund.
The 23-year-old central defender signed a contract until June 30, 2026, as announced by VfB Stuttgart on Monday. “He is athletically strong, has a good passing game and has gained valuable experience at national and international level in recent years,” said sporting director Sven Mislintat about the new signing.
“He knows the Bundesliga and will therefore need little time to integrate with us.” After leaving Borussia Dortmund, Zagadou has been without a club since July and is supposed to help stabilize VfB’s defence. He has been in 92 competitive games for BVB since 2017. However, he was repeatedly absent due to injury. “I’m very happy to be here. Many thanks to those responsible at VfB for the trust they place in me,” said Zagadou. The Stuttgarters are still without a win after the first seven league match days.
