The French luxury brand Chanel takes over the fashion group JY BH. The takeover includes all business areas, four ateliers and employees of the French company, reports the industry medium FashionNetwork. The acquisition will also bring French fashion designer Jean-Yves Bohère to Chanel.
“This decision was made on the basis of aligned interests: JY BH Group relies on a solid partner that will provide it with long-term visibility, while Chanel helps maintain exceptional know-how in the heart of France,” Chanel told FashionNetwork.
JY BH’s working methods will not change and the ateliers will continue to work with their customers, emphasized the French luxury brand.
Jean-Yves Bohère founded the JY BH fashion group in 1999 through the acquisition of Marque & Mod, an atelier specializing in women’s fashion. In 2005, he moved to a PR3 studio in Bourges, France, where he focused on tailoring and clothing with sleeves, which became the group’s main activities. In 2013, he expanded his portfolio to include two more studios and at the same time founded a design agency to develop both women’s and men’s collections.
