Homegrown about career plans
If possible, Timothy Chandler would like to play in the Bundesliga well after his contract expires in 2025. The right-back explained in the “Sport1” interview: “If Eintracht wants to, I can still play at the age of 40. I’m proud to be on the pitch for Frankfurt. Eintracht is my club, Frankfurt is my home.”
Born in Frankfurt, he has played a total of 174 competitive games for SBU to date, scoring ten goals and providing 15 assists. In the meantime, Chandler was also in action for 1. FC Nürnberg from 2010 to 2014. He is 40th in the ranking of Hessen’s record players. “If my legs will still carry me when I’m 40 and the club still want me, then I’ll still play when I’m 40,” Chandler clarified.

After the end of his professional career, the 29-time US national player will make the coaching license. “It would be very important to me to be able to help with youth development, that talented people make the leap to the professionals. We need to bring more talent from Eintracht youth to the pros again,” said Chandler. Aymen Barkok (23) is just another homegrown player in the current SGE professional squad – who will switch to 1. FSV Mainz 05 on a free transfer after the season.
