Chancellor Olaf Scholz visits the second European Championship game for German handball players in Berlin. This emerges from the appointments of the head of government. The selection of the German Handball Federation (DHB) will face North Macedonia on Sunday at 8.30 p.m. (ZDF and Dyn) in the Mercedes-Benz Arena.
Scholz is a self-confessed handball fan and has attended games of the second division team VfL Potsdam in the past. “I wish everyone exciting games and our national team much success,” the SPD politician wrote on social media before the German opening game against Switzerland (27:14) on Wednesday.
Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, among others, watched the opening game against the Swiss in front of a world record crowd of 53,586 spectators in Düsseldorf in the stadium.
