Chance of slipperiness in the evening rush hour. It will snow even more on Friday evening; busiest evening rush hour of the year

The Netherlands will again have to deal with snow on Friday. According to Weeronline, it will continue to snow on a large scale at the end of the afternoon and into the evening, which may hinder the evening rush hour.

It is now snowing in large parts of the country, causing the roads to silt up.

With a peak of 488 kilometers, the busiest Friday evening rush hour of this year has been measured, Rijkswaterstaat reports. Snow showers are moving across the country, for which code yellow has already been issued by the KNMI.

Snow in the north, center and east of the country

It snows on a large scale during the evening rush hour and at the beginning of the evening in the north, center and east of the country. Rijkswaterstaat reports that motorists should pay close attention on Friday evening and night: the wet road surface may be frozen, which causes slipperiness.

Later in the evening and in the night to Saturday it freezes on a large scale. The KNMI warns with code yellow that there is a risk of slipperiness throughout the country due to freezing wet roads. This can make it very slippery locally.
