Champions, record contract in the US: over 1.5 billion for TV rights

Uefa and Eca have closed a rich agreement with Paramount and CBS for the new cup that debuts in 2024: double value compared to the last contract

The forecast of revenues for the new Champions which debuts in the three-year period 2024-27 was five billion, but the figures will probably be revised upwards. Yesterday, in fact, UEFA and the ECA closed a very rich agreement for the sale of the TV rights of the tournament: the figures are not official but it should be over 1.5 billion in six years (up to 2030), double the value of the last contract.

It was Paramount and CBS who secured the direct, prevailing on Amazon. And the Spanish-language rights still need to be sold, which should bring in at least another half million in revenues. The 2022 Real Madrid-Liverpool final had almost 3 million viewers. Certainly another blow to the Super League’s ambitions.
