A Borussia Dortmund, which was initially extremely offensive, had to accept a dramatic draw at the start of the Champions League near Juventus. The BVB played 4: 4 (0-0) in Italy on Tuesday evening. Eight goals scored in halftime.
The – after the long offensive phase at the beginning – first redeeming goal, Karim Adeyemi, who had been described again and again in the run -up to the game as a difference, who was practically nothing, especially in the first part of the game (52nd). Because Juve had now woken up, Kenan Yildiz managed the equalizer (64th). But Felix Nmecha fled the ball just a minute later in the top right into the goal. Dusan Vlahovic immediately equalized again (67th), Yan Couto again took the lead for the Germans (75th) in this goal -rich phase.
A transformed penalty from Ramy Bensebaini supposedly brought the Dortmund victory (86th) after the situation had been examined by the VAR for minutes – and the Dortmund players carried out a tangible argument about who could now carry out the penalty. In injury time Vlahovic scored his second goal – and then put Lloyd Kelly the much acclaimed goal to compensate for 4: 4.
Dortmund first more active – but Turin more dangerous
Dortmund radiated significantly more presence in the early quarter of an hour, after 15 minutes played with a good second third to a third possession of the ball in favor of the guests from Westphalia. However, it also became clear what the Turin focused on: the BVB could never penetrate the penalty area or even shoot on the goal. The Niko Kovac team looked at the Italians from their half – but the “old lady” did not want to be molved.
The hosts were rather passive at the beginning, but still had a degree early – and it was extremely dangerous immediately. Andrea Cambiaso drove the ball forward over the left and then staged Khephren Thuram half left. It took three steps, was not attacked and pulled off free -standing. Bensbaini threw himself in the shot and falsified the ball slightly, Gregor Kobel jumped off at the right moment and scratched the ball that risen dangerously on the goal at the last second from the left Kreuzeck (4th).
Juve picks up speed
From the 20th minute of the game, Juventus became more active. And promptly the next reasonably successful action by the Italians was created. The former Leipzig Lois Openda flanked from the left towards Kenan Yildiz in a quick advance. But Bensbaini confidently cleared the ball to the corner (21st). Shortly thereafter, Openda pulled off the right angle from the right, but only hit the outside network (22nd).
While nothing could be booked by Dortmund’s offensive – Serhou Guirassy and Maxi Beier hung in the air, Karim Adeyemi acted very happily behind the storm tip – BVB keeper Kobel was the focus several times, but radiated a lot of stability and safety. After a corner, Jonathan David suddenly stood directly in front of the goalkeeper of the guests, but the team around the referee François Letexier rightly decided to offside (34th). A little later it was David again, who shot from the left from an acute angle onto the goal of the black yellow, but again the Swiss goalkeeper was on the spot.
Case backers of Openda – wafer thin in the offside
As soon as the teams were back on the field after the break, the Dortmund fans stalled their breath: after a flank from the right, Openda started the fall back. But on the one hand the ball stroked the gate, in addition the Belgian was offside.
Up to this point, Marcel Sabitzer could not set an accents on the six position, and Yan Couto also made many mistakes in the game structure on the right. But when Maxi Beier suddenly injected into a long ball on the right side and pressed the ball past the goalkeeper Michele de Gregorio past the right post, hope germinated by German fans (51.).
Adeyemi just try it
The Dortmund, obviously newly set during the break from Kovac. And just a minute later it was time: the much more agile attackers of the Borussians made the game quickly, Guirassy had the ball dripped on adeyemi. He took a heart against seven Juve defenders and pulled out flat with the left. The shot was extremely placed and hit the bottom right.
With the goal, the game was suddenly fully going. Kenan Yildiz also tried it from a distance, the native of Regensburg pulled off from a left -back position and turned the ball to the right into the angle.
Three goals in four minutes
The character of the game had turned 180 degrees – suddenly both teams showed enormous urge to score. And the Dortmunders were able to cheer again: Adeyemi played the ball on NMECHA, starting from Couto on the right, which immediately recognized his free shooting track and fled the ball up to the goal from about 20 meters.
But the joy of the renewed leadership lasted extremely short: because the newly substituted Dusan Vlahovic ran in a half -right to a Pass from Yildiz and pushed the ball past the chanceless carnival into the far corner.
Suddenly the Dortmund goal machine works
But again Borussia Dortmund struck: Starting from Julian Brandt, Couto Halbrechts stormed the ball at the foot towards Turiner Tor. Juve’s defense was surprisingly passive and left the Brazilian undisturbed. Couto shot from about 13 meters to goal and placed the ball at the bottom right of the post.
BVB players argue who can shoot a penalty
But that’s not all: Turin’s Lloyd Kelly braked a shot of Dortmund on the Juve goal on the ground. Letexier immediately pointed to the penalty point, but the VAR team worked in the background. When the decision “penalty” was confirmed after several minutes, a violent discussion broke out among the Dortmund players about who can carry out the penalty of the players. In the end, Guirassy handed over the ball Bensebaini, who brilliantly fulfilled this task. Dortmund looked like the safe winner.
But then the big appearance of Vlahovic and Dortmund’s defensive performance fell dramatically. Vlahovic’s connection gave Juventus back the hope. Shortly afterwards he flanked on Kelly, who escaped Julian Rerson and nodded 4: 4 – a dramatic start of the Champions League season was over.
