RB Leipzig lost 4-1 to Shakhtar Donetsk at the start of the Champions League group stage.

Bundesliga club RB Leipzig also stumbled into the Champions League after the false start in the league. Coach Domenico Tedesco’s team lost 4-1 (0-1) to top Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday evening.

Marjan Schwed (16th) used a blackout by RB goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi to lead the guests. After the equalizer by Mohamed Simakan (57th), Schwed (58th) answered immediately. Mychajlo Mudrjk (76th) and Lassina Traore (85th) ensured the final score. This puts the DFB Cup winner under pressure early on next week at defending champions Real Madrid.
