Galatasaray Istanbul narrowly avoided a false start in Bayern Munich’s Champions League group. The Turkish football champions made up for a 2-0 deficit in the final phase against the Danish champions FC Copenhagen and scored 2-2 (0-1).
The Frenchman Sacha Boey (86th) and the Brazilian Tete (88th) scored for Galatasaray, who played in the majority from the 73rd minute in their first premier class appearance since 2019.
Copenhagen defender Elias Jelert saw yellow-red, the Danes had previously taken the lead through Mohamed Elyounoussi (35th) and increased through Diogo Goncalves (58th). Copenhagen will host FC Bayern as their next opponent on October 3rd.
