Champions League | After a draw at the start: FC Bayern wants to “get points back”

After the carelessly squandered victory in the first Champions League group game, the FC Bayern footballers want to show a reaction.

The team, like their upcoming opponents Paris St. Germain, “lost points” at the start, said defender Katharina Naschenweng: “We both want to get the points back.” This will be seen in the game on Thursday (6:45 p.m./DAZN).

The German champions had given up a lead against AS Roma (2-2), in Paris “we just have to go one step further,” said Naschenweng, who expects more consistency in exploiting opportunities: “We can close the bag earlier and take the pressure off of us.” Paris lost its first group game against Ajax Amsterdam (0-2).

Coach Alexander Straus has not yet been able to say for sure whether national player Giulia Gwinn will be available to the Munich team again. “We definitely have hope,” he emphasized. Gwinn suffered a blow in the league game against Werder Bremen and was substituted.

Attacker Pernille Harder, however, will still be missing. “She won’t be ready yet,” Straus announced. The Danish international is getting “better and better” after her medial ligament injury, and the Munich coach is promising a return before the winter break.
